The lastest release on October 15th, 2023 features jazz organ. The new Tony Thompson Trio is comprised of jazz organ, guitar and drums, the classic organ trio. This trio was recorded by Eric Von of Stratosphere Records. The mood for this recording could be thought of as ‘Ballad and Blues’ like so many bands in the late 5o's and early 60's. There are 3 original tunes penned by Thompson:Blues For Debbie, Eloise in Violet, and Blue Saphire. The concept for this recording was inspired by all of the jazz organ trios that have gone before such as those with Jimmy Smith, Don Patterson, Tony Monaco, Joey Defrancesco, Richard Grove Holmes etc. To hear this new trio click on this link:
